How do I sing and record karaoke?

Choose a backing track or try the original demo. Adjust Backing key up to six semitones in either direction to find your vocal range. Paste lyrics or import a plain-text or LRC lyric file, then open Full-screen lyrics for a focused singing view. Your backing, lyrics and settings save on this device. Press Enable microphone when you are ready to sing, adjust the music and vocal levels, then record your performance. Finished takes save in Recordings when browser storage is available. Review and download a copy to keep, or send the performance to Tune Editor without replacing the existing arrangement.

How are the microphone and backing track handled?

Backing tracks and microphone audio are mixed on your device. Microphone access starts only when you enable it, and the microphone is released when you leave karaoke. Monitoring is off initially; use headphones if you enable it. Vocal timing correction shifts voice against backing in the recording by up to 500 milliseconds in either direction; lyric timing is a separate control. An optional speaker-click timing check measures the combined playback and microphone path and lets you review a suggested recording correction before applying it. Backing key adjusts the accompaniment by up to six semitones while preserving its duration and lyric timing. It prepares the track locally before playback and leaves microphone audio unchanged. Key adjustment supports mono or stereo tracks up to three minutes and 64 MiB of decoded audio; larger tracks remain available in their original key. Extreme shifts can sound processed. It does not remove vocals, supply commercial songs or automatically transcribe lyrics.

A few useful notes

Can I change a backing track to fit my vocal range?

Use Backing key to transpose the accompaniment up to six semitones up or down. Its duration and lyric timestamps stay the same, and the microphone is not shifted. Wait for preparation to finish before playing. Processing supports mono/stereo tracks up to three minutes and 64 MiB decoded audio; larger tracks can play in their original key.

Does Resonant include a karaoke song catalogue or remove vocals?

The first version accepts your own backing track and includes an original Resonant demo. It does not include a commercial song catalogue or automatic vocal removal. You can paste your own lyrics or timed LRC lyrics.

Why is microphone monitoring off when I start?

Monitoring plays your microphone through the speakers or headphones. It starts off to prevent feedback. You can record without hearing your microphone live. If you enable monitoring, use headphones; device and Bluetooth latency can affect the timing you hear.
