THE RESONANT FIELD NOTES

Small ideas. Real music.

Make a first melody, hear what a crossfader changes, or record your voice in time. Follow one task from the first note to a file you can keep.

Made for this studio.

These guides explain the controls and limits of Resonant, the browser music studio built by AppsOverFlow. They use short musical exercises and the original Neon Meridian demo, so you can try the ideas with the tools already here.

Each guide includes something to listen for, a way to check the result, and advice for getting unstuck. Instrument pages also have their own short practice exercise. The updated date refers to the guide, not to a claim that every browser or device has been tested.

Virtual instruments help you explore notes, rhythm and arrangements. They do not reproduce physical bowing, breath control or every detail of an acoustic instrument. Each instrument page identifies its sample or synthesized sound source.

A few useful answers.

Do I need musical experience to follow these guides?

No. Start with the first melody guide and its named notes. Each guide explains one task, what to listen for and how to check the result. You can use touch, a mouse or a computer keyboard.

Can I try the guides without uploading music?

Yes. The melody guide starts with Resonant’s piano. The DJ and karaoke guides use the original Neon Meridian demo. Microphone recording in Karaoke is optional and requires your permission.
