Try a clear brass melody with a virtual trumpet. Alternate short notes with held tones to explore its bright, projecting sound.

## How to play

In 3D view, choose Play to tap, strum, or glide across a playing surface. Hold keys or wind surfaces to sustain a note. Choose Rotate to inspect the model; scroll or pinch to zoom. Use the labeled note controls or computer keys for chords and the full range. Classic view provides the original illustrated playing surface. Use the labeled note controls or computer keys to select pitches. The illustrated valves are a visual representation rather than a full fingering simulator.

## Sound

Trumpet samples provide the brass timbre, with sustained playback while a note is held.

## Answer a rising brass call

Build a short call and response from three pitches. Reversing the order gives the second half a clear relationship to the first.

Starting tempo: 72 BPM. Use Keep the beat for a steady pulse.

1: C4 (A) | 2: E4 (D) | 3: G4 (G) | 4: Release and rest | 5: G4 (G) | 6: E4 (D) | 7: C4 (A) | 8: Release and rest

1. **Use direct pitch controls.** Locate C4, E4 and G4, mapped to A, D and G. These shortcuts choose pitches directly; the illustrated valves are not an acoustic fingering chart.

2. **Play a short call.** At 72 BPM, play C4, E4 and G4 on beats 1, 2 and 3. Release each key before the next attack and leave beat 4 empty.

3. **Answer in reverse.** Play G4, E4 and C4 on beats 5, 6 and 7, then rest. Repeat with the same spacing in both halves.

**What to listen for:** Each note should start distinctly. The descending answer should mirror the timing of the rising call rather than rush back to C4.

**Try next:** Hold the last C4 through the final beat instead of resting. Compare a sustained ending with the original short answer.

## How do I record the trumpet in Resonant?

1. **Choose your playing controls.** Choose Play in 3D view or switch to Classic. Tap a playing surface, use the labeled note controls, or press a computer-key shortcut to enable sound.

2. **Record your idea.** Press Record above the instrument, then play your phrase. This records studio audio without using your microphone. Each take can last up to five minutes.

3. **Listen and keep a copy.** Press Stop, open Recordings, and listen to the take. Choose Download WAV or Original audio to keep a file. Saved takes stay on this device; clearing browser storage removes them.
