Explore 37 chromatic 3D keys from C3 to C6, or choose Classic for the original 24-note C3–B4 keyboard. Hold notes together for sustained reed chords, or begin with a small melody.

## How to play

In 3D view, choose Play to tap, strum, or glide across a playing surface. Hold keys or wind surfaces to sustain a note. Choose Rotate to inspect the model; scroll or pinch to zoom. Use the labeled note controls or computer keys for chords and the full range. Classic view provides the original illustrated playing surface. Click or touch the illustrated keys, or use the labeled keyboard shortcuts. Hold several keys for a chord. The bellows animate as notes play; no manual pumping is required. The stops are decorative.

## Sound

Harmonium recordings by Donya Quick, distributed in the tonejs-instruments sample library, supply the reed sound. Samples are transposed and looped while notes are held. Source and license details are in Audio attribution.

## Keep a low note under a moving line

Hold C3 while a higher note changes above it. This explores independent sustained voices in the virtual reed keyboard without manual bellows control.

Starting tempo: 60 BPM. Use Keep the beat for a steady pulse.

1: C3 + E3 | 2: Hold both | 3: C3 + F3 | 4: Hold both | 5: C3 + G3 | 6: Hold both | 7: C3 alone | 8: Release and rest

1. **Find the foundation and melody.** Z plays C3. C, V and B play E3, F3 and G3. Start Keep the beat at 60 BPM; touch users can hold the labeled controls with separate fingers.

2. **Keep Z held.** Press Z and C together on beat 1. Keep Z down while replacing C with V on beat 3, then replace V with B on beat 5.

3. **Let the foundation finish.** Release B on beat 7 so only C3 remains. Release Z for beat 8, then repeat after the gap.

**What to listen for:** The low C3 should continue without restarting when the upper note changes. The bellows animation follows playing and does not set the volume.

**Try next:** Reverse the upper line: G3, F3, E3. Keep each upper note for two beats over the same held C3.

## How do I record the harmonium in Resonant?

1. **Choose your playing controls.** Choose Play in 3D view or switch to Classic. Tap a playing surface, use the labeled note controls, or press a computer-key shortcut to enable sound.

2. **Record your idea.** Press Record above the instrument, then play your phrase. This records studio audio without using your microphone. Each take can last up to five minutes.

3. **Listen and keep a copy.** Press Stop, open Recordings, and listen to the take. Choose Download WAV or Original audio to keep a file. Saved takes stay on this device; clearing browser storage removes them.
