Find a light, singing melody with a virtual concert flute. Start with a few notes, then hold a longer tone to hear its airy character.

## How to play

In 3D view, choose Play to tap, strum, or glide across a playing surface. Hold keys or wind surfaces to sustain a note. Choose Rotate to inspect the model; scroll or pinch to zoom. Use the labeled note controls or computer keys for chords and the full range. Classic view provides the original illustrated playing surface. Press and hold a labeled control or computer key. Release it to end the sustained note, or choose a preset to hear a short melody.

## Sound

Flute samples provide the airy attack and sustain. Pitch is selected through the note controls rather than real flute fingering.

## Let the end of a flute phrase settle

A small rising phrase becomes clearer when its held note and rests have deliberate lengths. The virtual flute needs no microphone or breath input.

Starting tempo: 60 BPM. Use Keep the beat for a steady pulse.

1: C5 (A) | 2: D5 (S) | 3: E5 (D) | 4: Keep holding E5 | 5: D5 (S) | 6: Release and rest | 7: C5 (A) | 8: Release and rest

1. **Find the three pitches.** Use A, S and D for C5, D5 and E5, or their labeled note controls. Start Keep the beat at 60 BPM.

2. **Hold the top of the phrase.** Play C5 and D5 on the first two beats. Press E5 on beat 3 and keep it down through beat 4, then release before returning to D5.

3. **Make the rests intentional.** Release on beats 6 and 8. Repeat the whole phrase only after the final rest, without filling the gap with another note.

**What to listen for:** The held E5 should be longer than the neighboring notes. The rests separate the return to C5 from the next repetition.

**Try next:** Replace E5 with G5 using G. Keep the same durations and listen to how the higher turning point changes the phrase.

## How do I record the flute in Resonant?

1. **Choose your playing controls.** Choose Play in 3D view or switch to Classic. Tap a playing surface, use the labeled note controls, or press a computer-key shortcut to enable sound.

2. **Record your idea.** Press Record above the instrument, then play your phrase. This records studio audio without using your microphone. Each take can last up to five minutes.

3. **Listen and keep a copy.** Press Stop, open Recordings, and listen to the take. Choose Download WAV or Original audio to keep a file. Saved takes stay on this device; clearing browser storage removes them.
